Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her first roles on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director as well as actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
