Emily Irene VanCamp has been an Canadian actress for many years. She is well-known for the roles she played on television and films. Her work is well-known on both Canadian and American television. Emily began acting at the age of 12 after she had a visit with her elder sister Katie in one of Katie's movies. Emily began attending classes in acting and auditions when she realized that she was passionate about acting. She was initially cast in commercials for a few minutes before being offered a role on the Canadian children's horror television show Are You Scared of Darkness? The only part she could get was a silent one. At the age of fifteen, Emily made her big breakthrough after she was made an official character on the WB Television program Glory Days. The show ended up being cancelled after just nine episodes, Emily's acting attracted the attention of Dawson's Creek writer Greg Berlanti who decided to cast her in his TV show Everwood. Emily was also a dancer as well as a photographer. Teen once named her one of the most talented actors who were under twenty. The Maxim's Hot 100 2014 list ranked her at number 51.
